Statement of Purpose and Guidelines
To provide business scholarships to deserving Ohio residents
desiring a career in the real estate industry or related areas of study.
Licensed Real Estate sales agents are
becoming more in demand as professionals;
Buyers
Agents, Sellers Agents, Real Estate Assistants and Open House Agents.
To do these jobs applicants will need
a professional license. Licensing requires
completing 120 hours of approved class room curriculum in the four
disciplines
of real
estate studies and successfully passing the Ohio State licensing exam.
Business Scholarships
must be applied toward classes during
the calendar year
that they are awarded.
Business Scholarships are awarded to select candidates that meet the success
profile criteria and are willing to attend Ohio Institute classes in
one of
the following county locations:
Ashtabula - Ashland - Cuyahoga - Geauga - Lake -
Lorain
Medina-Portage-Richland - Stark - Summit - Wayne
Criteria
The applicant must be an Ohio resident.
The applicant must be registered with the Ohio Institute of Real Estate Studies.
The applicant must pursue a career in residential, commercial real estate, or appraisal.
Awards are based on four conditions and a review by the Business Scholarship Award Committee,

Level of interest
2.
Commitment to the program,
3.
Broker recommendation
4.
Financial need.
Application Requirements
1.
Type or print legibly a completed application form for processing
2.
Letter to the Business Scholarship committee explaining the applicant’s
career goals
3.
Copy of the applicant’s resume
4.
Letter of recommendation from a sponsoring Ohio Broker
5.
A financial need form to demonstrate financial need (if applicable)
All
successful candidates will be notified by mail of their Business Scholarship award
and provided with a class schedule and registration forms.
The successful applicant will also
need access to a cell phone, computer, the internet,
email, a digital camera and a set of city maps. All applicants for the Business
Scholarship
must 18 years of age or older, possess a valid drivers license and have the
time
to devote to course work and study. All applicants must be willing to pursue a
full time career
in the field of Real Estate Sales after course completion and passing the state
real estate exam.
